The OAU is a spineless body and cannot deal with tough issues in Africa

The Organization of African Union (OAU) made a spineless motion to urge the divergent parties to work together in unity. What a load of crap. Why should Mr. Tsvangirai the opposition leader work in unity with the despotic tyrant Mugabe is? Mugabe railroaded himself into that election and competed against himself and won and you call that fair? Why didn’t the Africans rebuke this little man of no morals? Is it because Mugabe’s way to power is the way most Africans do business and to out Mugabe would be like outing their own hypocritical policies?

It is so disappointing that up to now Africans cannot get their act together. They have everything there to make life easier for the people if only the  narrow-minded and selfish politicians with small brains could get out of the way.

I have said it before and I repeat that although I am not gung-ho on American democracy I think it would be wise for the world leaders to adopt a policy where a President cannot sit in office for more than two terms.  If he cannot accomplish anything meaningful in two terms I do not see much hope there and might as well he or she be gone. This habit of warming the Presidential seat for too long encourages the kind of “entitlement” behaviour that we see in those like Mugabe.  He is disgracing his people and by extension the whole of Africa and he has outed the weak-kneed African leaders that they are.  What has Mugabe accomplished in the 20 years he has held on to power illegally? He has created more poverty, more political bullies, more divisiveness and more controversies among the people of Zimbabwe. The man needs to go. Mugabe has nothing substantial to offer at 84 years old.

The Organization of African Unity is a useless institution that cannot take a stand when it needs to because there is no ethics among  most of the leaders. The OAU should have done nothing less than call for Mugabe to step down and have a proper run-off election.

Photographs of Zimbabweans who voted out of fear. They know whether they voted or not the results would be the same and if they did not vote Mugabe’s thugs would likely harm them.

Huge Drug Bust in North Atlantic Waters

Prince Williams Lynx naval helicopter was a big part in the apprehension of cocaine bales worth some $80 millions just northeast of Barbados and the five men who were on board the fishing raft which carried the stuff were detained.

Good job Prince, the drug problem in the Caribbean area has reached alarming proportions and any help to stem the tide is great. The perpetrators should be punished to the highest extent of the law.  The drug problem around the Caribbean areas has made some of these Island paradises virtually tropical hells for the ordinary folks.

Students connected with Hatcher’s daughter Emerson loved

Terri Hatcher and her daughter Emerson recently visited Nairobi’s boarding school for girls and Emerson was a big hit with the students. They loved her said Hatcher.

While in Nairobi Hatcher does what celebrities do, she visited the slums, saw the poverty, spoke with the children and asked what are their dreams.

Seeing the faces of poverty first-had does soften the heart and loosen the pocket strings so there are benefits to personally see what we read or hear about on TV and the news. It is also good as a reminder that we must not take things for granted and also to see how our own lifestyles may be contributing to the poverty in lands far away.
