Tony Braxton kept on shaking her booty while her dress falls apart. What’s up with that? Is this a publicity stunt or are these people so poor they can’t afford to stitch their clothes because it has to be returned to the designer. Anyway I find this rather strange and suspicious.

Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy

Photo: KH1/WENN 1 of 25 .In a jaw-dropping and moving op-ed in the New York Times, Angelina Jolie has revealed she recently underwent a double mastectomy after testing positive for the gene that predisposes her to breast and ovarian cancer.

“My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56,” writes the 37-year-old Oscar winner and U.N. goodwill ambassador. “She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. … We often speak of ‘Mommy’s mommy,’ and I find myself trying to explain the illness that took her away from us. They have asked if the same could happen to me. I have always told them not to worry, but the truth is I carry a ‘faulty’ gene, BRCA1, which sharply increases my risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer

Everything that goes around comes around and so is Psychedelics
Did Timothy Leary and Ram Dass had it right?
In recent years, a small cadre of scientists has cautiously rekindled the scientific study of psychedelics. At the conference, they reported new findings on how these drugs scramble brain activity in ways that might help explain their mind-bending effects. They’re also slowly building a case that these drugs might help people with depression, anxiety and other disorders

Hot in the press Kettle – February 2013
February is the month of love and it’s Black history Month which translates – Black people are loving people.

What’s up with Rihanna and Chris
Seems like the love birds are back together and fans are howling at Rihanna. Give the girl a chance. You do not understand the human heart. It is complicated. Let us hope she and Chris have emerged better people from this experience. They were both so young.
Chris was in Court recently for a matter related to the matter and it is alleged that Rihanna threw a kiss at him and they left the court together.
In an article in the TV Guide Rihanna appears unapologetic for her change of heart about Chris and basically told her critics to leave her alone if she is making a mistake it is hers – sounds like a really mad Caribbean woman – none ah yuh bisness wha me do wid me life. Good luck to you guys. This could turn out to be iry soul mates mon.
On another note Rihanna is set to be the face of Barbados flagging Tourism industry. The award winning star was seen playing dominoes with fishermen by the sea.

What’s up with the Fallen Black Idol Contestant
Guys give up this discrimination ting. Some of you think because you can sing you should be the Idol. Not everyone can win. Be grateful for the opportunities and keep your egos in check. There is more to TV shows and record deals than good singing. You have to be able to sell records and get people in the seats. People with fragile egos should not go on these shows, it is dangerous. I know it is hard to lose but cheer you a new reality show is coming to a town near you.

On Nooooo Anne of Green Gables gone Blond
This is very upsetting to Canadians to change Anne from the feisty red head to a limpid blonde. It’s just not the same. There is a charm in red heads that you cannot get with brunette or blonde so do not tamper with what works. This is an offense worth a lawsuit.

Smarty Pants.
Here it is people I don’t have a clue but this sounds important
The largest prime number has been discovered — and it’s 17,425,170 digits long. The new prime number crushes the last one discovered in 2008, which was a paltry 12,978,189 digits long.
The number — 2 raised to the 57,885,161 power minus 1 — was discovered by University of Central Missouri mathematician Curtis Cooper as part of a giant network of volunteer computers devoted to finding primes, similar to projects like SETI@Home, which downloads and analyzes radio telescope data in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). The network, called the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) harnesses about 360,000 processors operating at 150 trillion calculations per second. This is the third prime number discovered by Cooper.

Does anyone have any gargoyles lying around
One Manitoba museum is on the hunt for a group of gargoyles, and they’re asking Winnipeggers for help finding them.
The Manitoba Museum recently acquired two gargoyles that used to adorn the Winnipeg Tribune building on Smith Street in the city’s downtown.
But there used to be more and the museum wants them in their collection.

The Grammy’s 2013I watched the entire Grammy last evening without falling asleep. It was fabulous. LL Cool Jay was awesome. The guy has class, style and brains. Love him. The Bob Marley Tribute was a nice touch to the Grammy. Bruno is a rebel rouser. He is awesome. Carrie Underwood’s magical dress took my breath away. I thought the idea was innovative. I enjoyed that tremendously.
I don’t know which I like more Adele’s accent or her music. I was hoping she would sing. That girl could sing and engage people with her voice and she looked delicious with her pregnant look.
For me it was one of the best Grammy’s I’ve seen. The show was tight and the program flowed seamlessly. Thanks to all the musicians and their efforts to bring unity to the world. I think if the world was full of musicians and artists, we would live in a better world. See you nect year.

Happy New Year Y’allChrisandrihanna

Looks like pretty little Ms Rihanna and her bad boy Chris are like two peas in a pod. They spent Christmas in Barbados and New Year’s Eve in the USA.  I know Ri’s fans were mad at her but I hope they will get past that.  Let’s hope that Chris is a transformed person and has matured since the incident with Rihanna.  It appeared that the couple barely missed the stampede in Abidjan which let many people dead on New Year’s Eve. Brown, 23, was also billed as the star attraction at a “Peace for Africa” concert at an Abidjan stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Hugh Hefner – Pity the FoolHughHefner

What would an attractive 26 year old want with a rich 86 year old grandpa? His money of course. I do not blame the woman. If a man wants to pay for my youth then he should. The old sugar daddies are just too pitiful for words.  Hefner and Betty White would have made a delightful couple.Anyway after calling off their first wedding in June 2011, the Playboy founder, 86, and Playboy model, 26, tied the knot in New Year’s Eve ceremony at the Playboy Mansion.

Jada Pinkett Defends Daughters and Women

critics know just how pissed off she was with them passing judgement on her little girl because of the hairstyle she chose.

Jada used the platorm to address a much larger issue about men and women in society.   Pinkett described as an articulate woman  said:

“How is man to recognize his full self, his full power through the eye’s of an incomplete woman? The woman who has been stripped of Goddess recognition and diminished to a big ass and full breast for physical comfort only. The woman who has been silenced so she may forget her spiritual essence because her words stir too much thought outside of the pleasure space. The woman who has been diminished to covering all that rots inside of her with weaves and red bottom shoes.

I am sure the men, who restructured our societies from cultures that honored woman, had no idea of the outcome. They had no idea that eventually, even men would render themselves empty and longing for meaning, depth and connection. There is a deep sadness when I witness a man that can’t recognize the emptiness he feels when he objectifies himself as a bank and truly believes he can buy love with things and status. It is painful to witness the betrayal when a woman takes him up on that offer.

Jadadefendsdaughter

He doesn’t recognize that the [creation] of a half woman has contributed to his repressed anger and frustration of feeling he is not enough. He then may love no woman or keep many half women as his prize.

He doesn’t recognize that it’s his submersion in the imbalanced warrior culture, where violence is the means of getting respect and power, as the reason he can break the face of the woman who bore him 4 four children.

When woman is lost, so is man. The truth is, woman is the window to a man’s heart and a man’s heart is the gateway to his soul.

Power and control will NEVER out weigh love.

May we all find our way.”

Way to go Jada, tell em good.

Violence against Women

We mourn the loss of life of the woman who was gang-raped in India. It was nice to see the level of outrage by both men and women who wanted the brutes to face the toughest extent of the law. Patriarchy and misogyny must end this year. Women are free agents in the world and have a right to be here like anyone else and be able to walk this earth free from fear.

In the Nick of Time

The House voted Tuesday night to approve the plan, passed overwhelmingly by the Senate, that is designed to block tax hikes and delay spending cuts associated with the fiscal cliff.

A divided Republican House passed the Senate’s “fiscal cliff” agreement Tuesday night, following a tense day of GOP protests that the plan does not do enough to rein in federal spending.

President Obama lauded the vote, saying it averts a series of tax hikes and spending cuts “that could have sent the economy back into recession.”

Obama also said the deal is “just a step” in a comprehensive effort to reduce the nation’s debt, and that he had wanted a larger agreement but encountered too much political opposition.

    Surrogate Motherhood
There could be complications in this arrangement when things go bump in the ultrasound room. Heard of the case of the parents who offered $10,000 to their surrogate mother when they learned through ultrasound that the baby had serious medical problems including heart defect. The surrogate asked for $15,000 and the parents refused and the surrogate decided to give the baby a chance by delivering the child. The child has serious medical problems but the good news is that she found someone to adopt the baby girl? Is this right?
This is a case of double jeopardy to me. One cannot force a person to have an abortion regardless. Once you plant your child in another person’s body that person also have rights. So even though the parents do not accept responsibility for their child, how could they not love that child who is now in the world but with whom they can have no relations. What if that child grows up to be someone really significant and has to live with the fact that she almost never made it in this world? The surrogate mother said she is receiving a lot of hate mails from people who felt she should have gone through with the abortion. What do you think about this?

    Chavez is Dead
I for one am saddened with the loss of this man. He may have been a tyrant but a good one. He was the poor people of Venezuela’s robin hood. He took from the rich and gave to the poor. What’s wrong with that. People have to stop wanting so much more than they can use up in ten lifetimes and share the wealth around. He just redistributed the country wealth to its people. There seems to be always a problem when money and wealth is redistributed to poor people. Chavez heart was in the right place.
I hope that the path he laid out for the masses will be carried out.
