Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher call it quits
It’s always sad to hear what appeared to be a good marriage end. When it happens because of infidelity it is even sadder because there is betryal. Marriage can survive betrayal. It’s a New Day hosts Audrey and Bill Meisner have proved that there could be life after the worse betrayal. This couple have used their story to help others. Audrey’s infidelty even resulted in a child which the family has adopted and Bill has claimed the child as his own. This takes a lot of courage and commitment and love of each other to move on from this kind of betrayal. It is Faith and with God all things are possible. However there has to be a solid foundation of faith and commitment to work it through. I realize not everyone can have such a faith but good luck to both of them. They are both good people – Demi and Ashton.
Spiritual Guru Convicted
Mr. James Arthur Ray, a spiritual guru was charged and convicted in the accidental death of three of his devotees during a five-day “Spiritual Warrior” retreat at the Angel Valley resort near Sedona, for which some 50 participants had paid up to $10,000 each to attend. The three dead are Kirby Brown, 38; James Shore, 40; and Liz Newman, 49. The sweat lodge was done at the end of the five-day program.
While it is sad that this happened to good people, one has to ask the question.
Why someone would put themselves at such risk. These are not children; these are adults who paid $10,000 for this trip. I am not being insensitive to the deaths of these people but sometimes we make decisions that put our lives at risk and there is risk to everything we do, why should this Guru be fined. There is need for too much certainty and no risk. Why didn’t they leave the lodge once they begin to feel sick? Was someone stopping them? This sort of thing happens when we try to usurp others sacred culture without proper training. MR. Arthur could have easily hired an Aboriginal elder to do this part of the retreat but our arrogance can someone be our undoing. You want enlightenment, sit still, pray and meditate. Paying $10,000 for a five day retreat points to the unbalance of our world and the sharp divide between the haves and the have not. $10,000 could feed ten families for a year in some part of our village the world. Money cannot buy everything; it cannot buy enlightenment, peace of mind. It can buy food, clothing and education for poor folks.
The accidental death of screen legend Natalie Wood has resurfaced in the news. Police are taking another look at the case with new evidence from the captain Dennis Davin of The Splendour, the ship from which she fell. Davin has an attack of conscience he had to come clean. He now admits that he did not give the entire goods at the time he made his first statement to the police. He said he omitted some facts because he and Woods husband Robert Wagner had gone over what they will say to the police. Davin said that Wagner was very jealous of Natalie friendship with another passenger Chris Walker and there was a lot of tension in the boat. Davin said that Wagner knew Natalie had fallen over board and did nothing. Anyway the police are looking into this cold case. Let us wait and see what it uncovers.
The end of an Era.

Do you have the Kindness Gene?
… Is being nice in your DNA? – Russ Mitchell talks with Dr. Holly Phillips about a recent study on kindness, and whether empathy is in our genes. It appears that we do carry such a gene..Do you have the kindness Gene that would be kind wouldn’t it. Dr. Holly Philips said the research appears to show that it is a receptor gene for oxytocin. There are three variants of this oxytocin. They are receptors GG most empathetic, AG moderately empathetic and AA least caring or empathetic. See brief interview with Russ Mitchell at CBS.
Anderson Cooper on the Move
Anderson Cooper from hard hitting news to the softer side of daytime TV. He’s got some big shoes to fill with the departure of Oprah and Regis who were two powers of DTT. I like Anderson and I wish him well. I am sure he has the personality for daytime TV and we’ll have a winner. Could he be the next Phil Donahue – well, he’s got the hair. (DTT – Daytime TV)
Oprah Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King is leaving the media mogul’s flaying OWN network to join a new CBS morning show.
CBS announced Tuesday that King would team up with fellow hosts Charlie Rose and Erica Hill for a new program to replace the ratings-challenged Early Show.
I hope it’s not the case of jumping from what seems to be a sinking ship. Oprah’s OWN cable network, which launched at the first of this year is struggling but people should not see this as a failure but as growing pains. This is huge and I am sure Oprah had catered for this early set back.
A rep for OWN gave this statement to ET: “We are so happy for Gayle’s opportunity of a lifetime. She’ll be a fantastic host for the new morning show on CBS and we wish her all the best. Although her show will not continue on OWN, we look forward to her joining us from time-to-time as her schedule allows.”
Good luck to Gayle, just hope it works for her. I am still rooting for OWN Network. It is the way. We need more of Oprah’s programming on national TV – there is too much trash floating around, Oprah, hold your vision.
“We are entering an increasingly dangerous period of our history,” said Hawking, who has Lou Gehrig’s disease, leaving him almost completely paralyzed and unable to speak.
“Our population and our use of the finite resources of planet Earth are growing exponentially, along with our technical ability to change the environment for good or ill. But our genetic code still carries the selfish and aggressive instincts that were of survival advantage in the past. It will be difficult enough to avoid disaster in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand or million.
“Our only chance of long-term survival is not to remain lurking on planet Earth, but to spread out into
Egyptian Activist bares it all on FB in protest against her government.
Aliaa Magda Elmahdy is protesting government control by releasing naked photos of herself on FB page which is obviously an embarrassment to the government. Her critics come from both liberal and conservative factions. Aliaa wanted to express something that says she wants to be an independent agent and ought to be free to do what she likes. She is not committing a crime against anyone. Why does the state think it has to be so patriarchal anyway. When a wine is tightly corked it always explodes and gushes. Give people their freedom and most will used it responsibly, take it away and they’ll rebel.
Why does the woman’s body which is said to be the most beautiful thing God created is feared and loved so much. What is that about? I need to understand. Why is a woman’s naked body is like a paralysing drug to men and even to women that half the world’s resources is spent on either concealing it or exposing it. What a paradox. There is power in that.
Craigslist is in the news again

Both men responded to the same bogus advertisement for workers at a farm. Two men were arrested including a 16-year-old. Read the story below:
Gaddafi’s Son captured
As the saying goes, you can run but you can’t hide forever. What will happen to this young man? Will be able to receive justice in his country or anywhere? Is his fate tied to a father. Whatever happens, I hope that justice does not seek the death penalty for this man. He can still be changed. Bad things happen in war-time and it’s all about how you look at it. It times of war it is kill or be killed. War is wrong, any kind. There is never enough reason to go to work except to serve the ego. We have never tried to solve a war without guns and see where it leads.
