The world is celebrating and hailing the death of one of the perceived worst terrorist of our day. The US has spent close to 10 years since that fateful September 11 2001 hunting for Bin Laden who seemed to have developed a knack to dodge the American intelligence. But, as the saying goes, you can run but you cannot hide forever. Today was his day. His body is in custody of US officials.
Bin Laden was the leader of al Qaeda, the terrorist network behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. U.S. officials said that their forces have the body of bin Laden.
What the fallout will be among the Al Qaeda cohorts is another matter but for tonight the American people are celebrating and there is a feeling that justice is served.
President Obama spoke to the world in sombre tones and called on Americans to unite as they during the September 11.
