The man who made us Hot Hot Hot is Gone

Calypso megastar, Alphonsus The Mighty Arrow Cassel died at his home in Montserrat,  the youthful age of 60 after a year long battle with cerebral cancer.  The calypso world was immediately plunged into mourning as word of his passing shot across the region.

Arrow’s “Hot, Hot, Hot” of 1982 was his seminal piece of work and remains the largest-selling soca number.

There was a large outpouring of condolences and reactions as people involved in the cultural industries and friends remembered the icon.
