The man who bravely shared his last days with the world by posting his last lecture on the internet for everyone to read and perhaps be inspired and learn from his journey, has died a satisfied death for he had fulfilled most of his dreams and he had lived until his breath stopped. His was a life well lived. He was 47.
I am sure Randy Pausch regrets leaving his beloved wife and even more his young children. As parents we feel it is our duty to see our children through the difficult years, but he has left them with enough memories and words of love to see them through their most difficult days ahead, I am sure of it.
Pausch had an uncanny optimism about his life in spite of the dire diagnosis of pancreatic untreatable cancer which was terminal. His really last lecture was in November at the University of Virginia where he had taught from 1988 to 1997.
Pausch was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer in 2006. In September 2007 millions of viewers watched his Last Lecture at Carnegie Mellon as well as millions tuned in to see him on Oprah. Now I know millions of people he never met will mourn his loss and wish he did not have to die so young.
Pausch leaves to mourn his wife Jai, and three children, Dylan, Logan and Chloe. May his soul rest in peace.

He was a teacher, but he also was one of us.
He was a brave man.

i just read his book and watched his talk for his children. And i dreamed that i wish to meet him, who knows maybe at one day even if it could be in my dreams i could meet him. And i am sure his children will know their dad was a real teacher and great person. i hope i can be a good advisor like him for my students in future…
Rest in Peace
