HIV/AIDS Princess Zulu hopes to spare others her fate. Princess Zulu, born 1977 to parents both of whom died of the disease. She was married at 15 and had two children plus five stepchildren from her husband’s previous marriage. Her husband was HIV positive. Because of the stigma of this disease in Africa it is known as the “silent disease”. No one wants to talk about their problem for fear of being shunned and ostracised. But Princess Zulu while struggling with her own illness found herself trying to console thousands of her fellow Zambian who were suffering in silence.
Raising awareness about HIV/AIDS has become Zulu’s mission.
